On Tuesday, March 21st, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day. This Day has been been celebrated globally since 2012 for the purpose of raising awareness, promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity. The date being the 21st of the 3rd month is to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. We honored this special day at Glengary by following the worldwide tradition of wearing mismatched socks since chromosomes resemble socks to raise awareness and show our support for the Down Syndrome community.
