In class, we read the book, The Flying School Bus by Seymour Reit. At the end of the story, we discovered that the bus flew up into the sky. After reading the story, we discussed if the story could really happen and together, we created a chart to reflect our beliefs. Then, we learned about the difference between fiction (pretend/make believe) stories and nonfiction (real/factual) stories, and we discovered that the book, The Flying School Bus is actually a fiction story. Then, we read the book, School Bus by Donald Crews which is a nonfiction book and compared what they noticed about fiction vs. nonfiction books. Afterwards, the students were led in a following directions activity where they were expected to carefully listen and observe step-by-step directions to draw a matching school bus. We will continue to work on developing the important skill of listening watching, and following directions throughout the school year! 🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌🚌
