Using Robot Talk to Discover Middle Sounds in Words
Students had fun isolating the middle, vowel sounds in words by using Robot Talk to sort words with the short /a/ and short /i/ sounds.

Types of Pets Graph
In math, we worked together to collect and classify data to create a class graph to show the various types of pets the students have in our class. Students then transferred the data onto their own personal graphs and analyzed the data to answer questions. To end the lesson, the students enjoyed dancing along to a song about pets!

Habitat Projects
To conclude our science unit on What Animals Need to Survive, the kindergarten scientists studied about an animal of their choosing and designed and created a habitat incorporating the survival needs of their chosen animal.
Valentine's Day Fun!
To celebrate Valentine's Day, students enjoyed creating a heart-shaped, Mabel the elephant, the mascot of our phonics program. A lot of fun was also had sorting sweethearts and creating a graph to represent the number of each color students had in their boxes.

Happy 100th Day of School!
On Friday, February 5th, we had so much fun celebrating the 100th day of school! From dancing and singing while counting to 100, to making a special treat look like the number 100, to enjoying stories about the 100th day of school, to drawing a picture of our 100 year-old faces, to making 100 tally marks, a magical, fun-filled day was had by all!
