The Equal Symbol =

In math, the students had fun learning about the equal symbol and the not equal symbol by playing a game with a partner and comparing two numeric representations to determine if they were the same on both sides of the equal sign.

Ten Bears on a Bus

In math, the students enjoyed playing the cooperative game, "Ten Bears on a Bus" to generate different combinations that add to 10.

Reading with Romeo

Every Thursday morning, we have a special visit from our school therapy dog, Romeo during our Reader's Workshop.  Students thoroughly enjoy showing off their reading super powers to Romeo by reading him some of their favorite books from their book boxes.

 

Roll & Record with Dot Dice

In math, the students enjoyed rolling two dice and recording the sums of the numbers on a graph to find the sum that they rolled most frequently that reached the top of their graph first.  The class results were compared and analyzed to determine why certain sums were rolled more frequently than others.

Positive Outlook in the New Year

To ring in the New Year, the students reflected on the character strengths they have learned so far and wrote about their New Year's Resolutions by focusing on the character strength that they will try to use more often in the new year!  Their resolutions are currently on display in the hallway outside of our classroom for all to enjoy!
