To help raise funds for the Caleb White Project and have some fun during the holiday season, Glengary hosted 5 Spirit Days for the final 5 days of school leading up to the holiday break where students paid $1 for each day they participated. For Pajama Day, the students were invited to wear their pajamas to school. What a fun and comfy, cozy day we had together!

To celebrate the upcoming holiday break, we had so much fun reading the book, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. For a special surprise, the students all received a bell and a golden ticket just as the boy did in the story! We also watched The Polar Express movie together while enjoying a special treat of "cold" chocolate with a holiday treat! We then compared the similarities and differences between the book and the movie!

For Snowman Day, students were encouraged to wear white and a favorite scarf and hat. Be sure to check out the cutest little snowmen in town! Romeo even dressed for the occasion ⛄😍
Thank you to our room parents, Mrs. Cygan (Brennick's mom) and Ms. Nguyen (Ander's mom) for planning such a wonderful Winter Party! We are also very appreciative for the help of Mrs. Souyias (Sibley's mom) for volunteering to help during the party! From the delicious snacks, to the awesome stained glass snow globe craft, to the super fun candy cane race game, so much fun was had by everyone! We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who donated food and supplies for our party!

Here are some amazing friends having some fun in their Holiday Headgear!
At Glengary, the Positivity Project Committee joined forces with our PTA to host the "Glengary Helping Hands Event" which was a wonderful evening of giving back. Students and their families put a variety of character strengths into practice while engaging in interactive activities that helped to build the Other People Matter Mindset. From making fleece blankets for children in the hospital, to making get well cards for cancer patients, to making holiday decorations for a holiday party for less fortunate families at a church in Detroit, to creating paper placemats for residents of a local nursing home, to engaging with Romeo and other Walled Lake Schools therapy dogs, to reading books and identifying the character strengths used by characters, to obtaining information about the Student Pantry, to learning about the Caleb White Project-an organization founded by a former Walled Lake student that helps the homeless and develops youth leaders through volunteerism, a wonderful evening was had by all in attendance! Thank you to those who attended and supported 19 local families through the Glengary Giving Tree along with all of the other charitable donations and contributions that came out of this extra special event!
