We Love the Character Strength of Humor

As part of the Positivity Project, we had so much fun laughing and learning about the character strength of humor.  We put our humor to the test by having a "Funny Face Off" as seen on the Jimmy Fallon Show where we had loads of fun trying to replicate the funny faces of kids all over the nation.  We also enjoyed making funny faces of our own!  😂😎😜

Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day

On Monday, March 21st, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day.  This Day has been been celebrated globally since 2012 for the purpose of raising awareness, promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity.  The date being the 21st of the 3rd month is to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.  We honored this special day at Glengary by following the worldwide tradition of wearing mismatched socks since chromosomes resemble socks to raise awareness and show our support for the Down Syndrome community.

Leprechaun Invasion

Top of the morning! The leprechauns were on the loose in our classroom today and boy oh boy did they make a mess! When we returned from gym class, we were shocked to find chairs tipped over and cupboard doors wide open! The biggest surprise of all was the extra special green cookies that the leprechauns left for us! 💚☘💚

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

March is Reading Month

To kick-off March is Reading Month, the students enjoyed honoring the birthday of the infamous author, Dr. Seuss.  They used their word part power to generate words with the -at word part for the hat of the Cat in the Hat, as well as words with the -ing word part for the hair of Thing One and Thing Two.  Their masterpieces are currently on display in the hallway outside of our classroom for all to enjoy!
