Glengary 5th graders, Harper, Chelsea, and Decklyn returned to read a few more stories to us. We loved hearing A Snowman for Little Bear and The Book With No Pictures. Thank you to Harper, Chelsea, and Decklyn for continuing to share the gift of reading with us! 📕📗📘📙
Our Glengary PTA sponsored a super fun and informative assembly with Dumpster Doug where students learned about the importance of taking care of the Earth. This assembly is the first initiative that our school is taking to become a Green School. We will soon begin expanding our recycling focus in our cafeteria as well.
In math, the students enjoyed playing the cooperative game, "Ten Bears on a Bus" to generate different combinations that add to 10.
To celebrate the end of our reading unit of study, the students had so much fun creating Reader Man pointers and using them to practice all of the reading super powers they learned in this unit.
In math, students enjoyed playing the game, "Top-It" with their partners where they practiced identifying and comparing the value of written numerals.
In math, the students worked in partnerships using connecting cubes to compose and decompose a given number in multiple ways.
