Celebrating and sharing all of the people and things we are grateful for as we learn about the character strength of "gratitude" as part of the Positivity Project! To honor all of the hard work of the students throughout our "We are Readers" unit of study, the children all brought a Star Storybook from home to share with a partner in class. We had so much fun celebrating all that we have accomplished while reading our "Learn About the World" books and our "Star Storybooks"!!!!!!!

We were all so excited to celebrate the first snowfall of the school year! As the snowfall increased, we we couldn't resist the temptation to go outside and witness it firsthand!

In science, student engineers finished their shelter plans and moved into the next phase of the engineering process by creating their shelters together with their team. As they constructed, they discovered that improvements were necessary so they cycled through the engineering process many times to meet their goal of creating a shelter to protect an animal from the sun. Then, their completed shelters were put to the test by using a black light to see if their animals were truly protected from the sun. Afterwards, the teams reconvened to discuss if their shelters were successful and any potential improvements that could be made in the future.
