Scientists explore with their sense of taste

 Today, we explored our sense of taste by reading the book, Tasting by Helen Frost and discussing the five different types of tastes - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami.  During snack time, the students used their sense of taste to determine the type of taste of their individual snacks.  Then, they recorded their findings by drawing a picture of their snack and labeling what it is and how it tastes.
