Practice with Penguins

The students have been enjoying hearing many fiction and nonfiction stories about penguins in class. During our stations, they had fun practicing many skills they have been learning through a penguin theme including counting and comparing winter items, identifying and tracing upper and lowercsae letters, and using the code to color parts of a penguin by shape. In Story Workshop with Mrs. Steele, the students used penguins  and other pieces to tell a story about the adventures of their penguins. The kids also enjoyed making penguins in class. These penguins and their stories are currently on display in the hallway outside of our classroom for all to enjoy!

March is Reading Month Kickoff Assembly

We were all so excited to learn that Matilda by Roald Dahl will be our schoolwide book that we will read together for March is Reading Month! We loved listening to many of our Glengary staff read the first chapter of the book at our assembly and we are looking forward to all the fun events planned throughout the month of March!

Happy Valentine's Day

The students loved hearing the story of Mr. Goat's Valentine by Eve Bunting and creating valentine collection bags with Mr. Goat on them.  They spread kindness to one another by distributing their valentines into each collection bag.  Our Valentine Party was complete perfection and we have such gratitude for our room moms - Mrs. Ferguson, Mrs. Perez, and Mrs. Wilcox for ALL that they did to make everything so memorable! From the valentine-themed snacks, to the valentine monster craft, to the poking heart game with special prizes for everyone, we had such an amazing time and made lasting memories!
