Ringing in the New Year!

The JK students enjoyed listening to the story, Squirrel's New Year's Resolution by Pat Miller and learning about what it means to make a resolution. As part of our literacy rotations, the children practiced putting the events of the story in order and retelling to their tablemates. They also practiced recognizing letters and color words to color a New Year's picture. Additionally, they had lots of fun playing the "Happy New Year Bump Beginning Sounds Game" where they matched a letter to picture with the corresponding sound. During small group Story Workshop, the students loved manipulating pieces to tell a story about celebrating the New Year!
