To help raise funds for the Caleb White Project and have some fun during the holiday season, Glengary hosted 5 Spirit Days for the final 5 days of school leading up to the holiday break where students paid $1 for each day they participated. To celebrate the end of our Word Scientists Phonics Unit of Study, we hosted "Word School" where the students practiced being teachers to an extra special stuffed animal from home! As teachers, they created lesson plans for teaching their students about the snap words they have learned to date. Their plans were fully executed and they were all amazing teachers to their students! A wonderful day was had by all! 😊
Meet Our Stuffies
During our shared reading time, so much fun was had reenacting the story of The Gingerbread Man. Using their gingerbread man cookies, the students enjoyed pretending to be the fox as the gingerbread man climbed onto their backs, on top of their heads, out onto their noses, and finally into their mouths. At the conclusion of the story, we had so much fun creating a class bar graph of the part of the gingerbread man that they ate first. Then, we analyzed the results of the data on our graph.
