The junior kindergartners enjoyed listening to and reenacting the story of The Mitten by Jan Brett. Afterwards, they participated in literacy stations where they colored their own book of The Mitten for their book boxes, sorted animals that went into the mitten in the story, and relistened to The Mitten at the listening center and then drew and wrote about their favorite part of story. In small group with Mrs. Steele, the students enjoyed choosing an animal to hide under a mitten and writing three clues to describe the animal without revealing what it was. So much fun was had reading their clues to their classmates and having them guess what animal was hiding under the mitten.
